Asus has recently announced their first tablet for consumer market. The Eee Pad Transformer is the most inovative design i should said. It's the same idea that Motorola implemented for their Android phone the Atrix. But, Asus implement the idea for a tablet. The full keyboard docking come with 2 USB port, multi-touch touch pad and a battery to extend your Eee Pad battery lifetime. Eee Pad Transformer will be available on May 2011. Stay tune ;)

LG Optimus Black coming to Malaysia next month

Last week, Celcom has launched the LG Optimus 2x, the world first dual-core Android available with a very low price (for a dual core phone) of RM 1899 with no contract and from RM 978 for 18 month contract. Today, let's talk about the upcoming LG Optimus Black. THe phone will be available to local market by May 2011 (no news about the exact date). Below are some of the features of the phone :

Processor : 1 Ghz TI OMAP 3630
Memory : 512 MB RAM + 2 GB internal storage
OS : Android 2.2 with Optimus UI 2.0
Screen : 4.0 inch NOVA 480x800 display (the brightest of them all for smartphone)

U Mobile 42Mbps Internet Broad Band : Fastest mobile broadband ever

It's looks like YES 4G has a serious contender here. U Mobile has recently releasing their latest mobile broadband package. Notice the speed increased, from 7.2 Mbps to a whooping 42 Mbps. This is a good new to me as i'm currently using the 7.2 Mbps package with the same RM 68 monthly from them and my house got a full HSDPA coverage from U Mobile. The only thing make me thing twice to subscribe the 42 Mbps package is the upfront payment that i need to invest. RM 518 is far too much for me to invest. The price is due to the modem price of RM 450. But at least, we got a RM 20 / month for 5 monthly rebate. This will reduce our monthly commitment to only RM 48 / month for the first 5 month. As you can see, from the table above (it's just my way of comparing them, result may vary by individu), Motorola Xoom has manage to get the most point (my pointing system). Notice the Micro SD card slot on the Xoom, although Android 3.0 doesn't support micro SD card, Motorola told that, they will immediately push the update when the OS become micro SD card friendly.

My Summary :

Those number were for illustration purpose only. There's no clear winner until we get the device on our hand. By then, we can know which is good and bad. Sometimes, good thing seem like a bad things. It depend on how people see's it.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 is the most lightweight. In term of handling, it's reported to be very pleasant. Motorola Xoom, despite being the heaviest of those 3, it's pack with a lot of features and connectivity options. While LG Optimus Pad is so obvious with it 3D capturing capabilities, but with a slightly smaller screen size. All in all, all those 3 look great on paper, but can they perform similar ? That we need to wait. With several opponent coming their way, like the HTC Flyer, things should be interesting by then. I'll surely blog about them when there's one available.

Motorola has announce price for Xoom

Just last month Motorola has announce their first tablet. Recently, they has manage to come out with the price range. With the highest CDMA and upgradeable spec were price at $800 (approx RM 2400). Good news is, the Wifi only version has a lower price tag at $599 (approx RM 1800). The bad news is, those price were not including all the lousy tax. huhu !

HTC Unveil their first 7 inch : The HTC Flyer

HTC has unveil their new line of products to compete with all others brand. Among them, there were this 7 inch display tablet. Let's take a brief look on the HTC Flyer

HTC Flyer : 7 inch Tablet.

This is the most impressive one from HTC. They has finally came out with a 7 inch smart phone to compete with the most praise Samsung Galaxy TAB. Flyer got the 1.5 Ghz single-core processor, 1GB Ram and 32GB of internal storage. It got two camera. On the front is the 1.3 megapixel for video calling and on the back is the 5 megapixel camera with autofocus.

It weight at 415g and is just 13.2mm thick. Unfortunately, there's no HDMI port for us to plug the Flyer to our LED TV. But, HTC has enable the dive to be use with a digital pen capabilities (you can see on the video below).

HTC Flyer use the re-build version of Android 2.3 aka known as Android 2.4. It's sense UI also got some upgrade with lots of new features. One of them is TimeMark. TimeMark is a note taking app with some twist. It allow user to record audio of meeting while taking notes (writing). User also can return to the exact audio recoding time when they click on the written notes using HTC Scribe. All TimeMark notes then can be sync with the popular cloud app called EverNote.

LG Optimus 3D : World first 'glassless' 3D Android base smart phone

This is the best of them all from LG. This device has shock so many people including me. Personally, i can't wait to get my hands on it. The 'glassless' 3D means that we don't need any glass / eye gadget to be able to see the 3D effect. Glassless 3D has been a talking point since 3D LED TV were invented. There will be the time where all of us can watch our favorite 3D movie on our glassless 3D TV in comfort and i mean so much in comfort. We can also watch it with the whole family of 5 / 7 / 9 or more (since no glass were needed).

The Optimus 3D not only featured the first glassless 3D tech in smart phone, it also included the 4GB LP DDR2 Ram. The memory also run on dual channel. LG choose to use the 1Ghz dual-core Texas Instruments OMAP 4 processor. IT also has 2 rear-facing camera that enable you to take a 1080p 2D (full HD) video and 720p 3D video. All those captured video can be viewed on your larger LCD / LED TV vie the phone HDMI 1.4 port.

The phone were said to be available world wide by early second quarter of this year (2011). Below is the spec for the phone :

From the spec above, notice that the phone support MKV file format. Nice eh ! Probably the most bad said and is the phone were shipped with Android 2.2 Froyo instead of 2.3 like all the other new and coming Android phone in the market. But, i think LG will make something between now and the phone launching. They have plenty of time to at least make an 2.3 update ready by the time the phone available to consumer. One other thing, with those kind of spec and features, don't aspect it will come on the middle rage price, it would most likely to be on the highest price rage. Wait and see ;)

Sony has unveil their next-gen mobile gaming device. It's not a Playsation phone, because you can't see or find any playstation logo on it. It's rather a new-gen device that can play playstation games. This is the new beginning of a new era by Sony. It has implement the like of PSP on the Adroid base device. Who knows, after this, any Android powered device can opt for the same things, that would be interesting.

For the spec, it got 4 inch multi touch display with a 854x480 resolution. An 1 Ghz Qualcom processor, an on board Andreno 205 GPU, 512 MB of RAM, 5.1 megapixel camera and all other normal stuff that all smartphone have. The phone expected to be shipped globally in March with a launch in the US.

Samsung has began to unpack their latest invention. Meet the Samsung Galaxy S 2 and Galaxy Tab 2. Galaxy S 2 use the power of latest release of Andriod 2.3 (gingerbread) with a Dual-core 1Ghz processor. It got the Super AMOLED 4.3 with a resolution of 480x800. On the imaging part, Galaxy S 2 got the 8-megapixel rear-facing camera that can record 1080p (Full HD) video at 30 frame per second. It also got some future tech equipped like the NFC (near field communication).

Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 inch

The new Galaxy Tab is 10.1 inch with a resolution of 1280x800. On the core side, it got the 1 Ghz Dual-core processor. It will run the latest Adroid for tablet Honeycomb OS (3.0). It is said that this tablet is slightly lighter than Motorola Xoom.

SynthCam : iPhone App that turn iPhone camera into SLR like effect.

I'm a bit jealous with all the iPhone owner. This kind of App make iPhone tiny camera become huge (what it can do). Beside of taking normal picture, this App can transform your iPhone into something that more or less 'big lens' SLR.

The App can easily make a 'bokeh' (blured background) effect out of iPhone camera. It was a genus algorithm by the developer to make the iPhone process the captured video into a 'bokeh' style photography.

It also can make magic by completely removing any moving background aka walking people behind your focused object. I'll included the example below.

One more magic that it can do is to sharpen and remove noise of a low light condition photo. What it do is, it will record sum amount time of video (5-10 seconds) and after that, the algorithm will do the rest. You can see the out come from the sample down below.

HP bring WebOS to the BIG Screen

HP has announce their 3 new product. Small, medium and big. Those 3 product were base on HP WebOS mobile operating system. It's been a while since HP acquire Palm until they release with these new toys.

Now lets start with the small one, the one called HP Veer :

HP Veer will have the power of a regular smartphone, but will be much more compact. While every one is thinking the bigger is the better, but HP was the one with the opposite. The kind of approach in a way of "HP is thinking beyond by thinking small". The 'tiny' and power full smartphone were packed with features (as i said before). You can do almost everything with this little thing (but with a much smaller display of course). Below is some of the feature listed :

HP TouchPad has the same screen size with Apple iPad. While other manufacturer go for 10.1 inch screen, HP decide to stay with 9.7 inch. The WebOS on the Touch Pad is the latest one, which is 2.1. The resolution is at 1024x768. It weight 1.5 pound and 13.7 mm thick. This cool device pack with a dual-core 1.2Ghz Snapdragon processor. Customer got to chose between various model which are with WiFi only / 3G / 4G edition. We will talk more on what this cool device can do in my next submission. The Coast Grill Alamanda

Last night I've join my friend to break fast at The Coast Grill Alamanda. Below is some of the food photo i've taken from there :

The menu that night was nasi briyani with chicken (kuah putih and kuah hitam..... dun know the name). Also got plain rice with a lot of other lauk like sambal sotong, paru masak cili, ikan goreng tepung ala thai, khailan ikan masin and lot more to choose from. It's not that, it also got the fried yoong tau fu bar for various selection of fried yong tau fu. It got salad bar with rojak buah, air mata kucing, pecal, puding and agar2, salad with thousand island of coz ;). The most favorite of all is the BBQ corner. U can get kerang bakar, sausage, udang and chicken. Drinks that night is teh tarik and cordial oren but i always go for air mata kucing. huhuhuh !

Overall dinning exp is 4/5 with open air and fountain view.
Overall Food taste is 4/5 with a lot of thing to choose from.
The price is only RM 33 per adult with a 10% disc (actual bill is RM 29.70)
Overall Value for money is 5/5. ;)

My current Mobile Phone...... Motorola V3x

Currently i'm using this great phone from motorola, the V3x. I've manage to mod / upgrade it with the latest firmware and many hack that can push the phone to the limit. Some of the hack that i like the most is the sound boost. By default motorola has limit the sound produce by this phone to level 1. But, it can go up to level six with a little mod / hack. Some more, i've manage to make the video and picture quality far more better than the default one. It's so simple even u can do it.
